Aerosol fire extinguishing systems are generally composed of floor-standing and hanging types.
Floor-standing aerosols are installed by placing them directly on the floor of the protected zone, usually in a corner of the room; while hanging aerosols are installed by using a fixed bracket to be mounted on the ceiling or the internal wall.
Floor-standing and wall-mounted aerosol fire extinguishing systems have in common that they are both used in relatively large protection zones and must be enclosed spaces, such as power distribution rooms, power generator rooms, data rooms, server rooms, computer rooms, etc.
They are designed to extinguish fires by total flooding, so they are not suitable for use in enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces, such as open steel-framed factories and open warehouses.
